God called us out of the darkness when He redeemed us from our sin. Now He calls us to call out others so that they, too, might be saved. Our job is to be a light in the world and expose sin — but we can never forget how important it is to speak truth not only in boldness, but also in love.

Sin exposes our nakedness. That’s why Jesus took on our sinful nature with His sacrifice — He put on mankind, lived among us, and hung exposed on the cross, all so He could act as a covering for us and we could be forgiven for our sins. When we clothe ourselves in Christ instead of seeking out the temporary pleasures of this world that only cover us for a fleeting moment, we find the peace our souls long for.

When Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, hiding in shame because of their sin, God came looking for them. And when we’re lost in the sin that threatens to destroy our lives, He comes looking for us, too. Instead of hiding in our sin, let’s allow ourselves to be found by the Seeker — and then walk out into the new life that He offers us!
