Please pray for my sister and our family as we face a very difficult transition.
My sister has significant physical and cognitive challenges, and I have been caring for her and managing so much of her life. I recently had to begin talking with her about moving into assisted living because I can no longer provide all of the care and supervision she needs safely at home.
She does not understand why she cannot simply go home and is very upset with me. She feels that everything is going well, while I see how much help she truly needs. Her anger and sadness are very difficult for me because I love her deeply and never wanted her to feel that I was giving up on her.
Please pray that God will give me wisdom, strength, peace, and courage as I make these decisions. Please pray that He will guide me to the right place for her—somewhere safe, compassionate, and loving where she will be cared for well and still have dignity and independence.
Please pray for my sister’s heart, that she will feel loved and protected even when she doesn’t understand why these changes are necessary. Pray that she will eventually find peace and perhaps even happiness in her new surroundings.
And please pray for our family. I am longing to have some of my life and time with my husband and children back without feeling guilty. Help me remember that caring for myself and my family does not mean that I love my sister any less.
Most of all, please pray that God will make the path forward clear and give me peace that I am doing the right thing.
Thank you for praying for us!
